Transform a Wreath with Paint

This spring I crafted a fabric wreath that I enjoyed very much but by fall it was badly faded.Wreath3-1

I really like the design of the wreath and wondered if I could paint it with fall colors.  My experiment worked!

I started by spray painting the entire wreath with a tan paint that I had in my stash.  It took many light coats before the dogwood pattern in the fabric was hidden.  I then used craft paint in four colors to paint the flowers.  I’ve now extended the life of this wreath for a few more months.

I’m pleased with this transformation!

  1. Aren’t you smart! Of course, now you’ve created a monster — that wreath will have to go to Christmas, to Easter, to St. Pat, to 4th of July, to ….

  2. Oh I just love your clever fall decor! I hope you will add your lovely metamorphosis to my Fall in Love linky party on Wednesday.

Until then, stop by and see the under $20 makeover I gave an ugly brass light fixture.

    Happy Monday!

  3. Paula, that was REALLY smart! Do you think you’ll leave it in the fall colors, or will you transform it yet again in the spring?
