Easter Mantel 2013
Since Easter is early this year, I got a February start on decorating so that I can enjoy my decorations for a full month.
My mantel started with creating three fabric covered art boards for a background. A fun crepe paper wreath adds a pop of both texture and color. Yellow planters from my vintage pot collection tie in the colors from the fabrics. Carrot eggs fill the middle planter and vintage cards fill two others.
Jellybeans in colors that match the fabrics make a fun filler for the vases and a bonus is the fun of eating them after Easter!
My grandmother gave me a vintage vine plant holder long ago. I painted pots to match my fabrics and “planted” the pots with a few carrot eggs.
A vintage German card fills this pot.
This vintage chick card was sent in 1913.
I hope my aunt will give me more information on the message. Willie is my great-grandmother’s sister. I believe this is address to “Lulie” who I thought was another sister. The message is a mystery to me!
I’m hoping to get the rest of my Easter things out this weekend.

I too am so ready to start my Spring decorations. I really wish Easter was in April though, that way I can enjoy all the decorations a little longer, it’s just around the corner!
Your pictures always make me wish I was doing more to decorate my house for the seasons! I especially love those yellow dishes and that beautiful plant stand, but I think my favorites are always those vintage postcards you have. What a lovely addition.
LOL I love the “sharing is caring” tool bar beneath your posts…SO CUTE!!!
Okay, now back to your mantel. I have serious mantel envy my friend. First, I love the wall hangings. So colorful! ANd your yellow planters are fantastic. LOVE them. Are all of them vintage? Where did you find them?
This is one of my favorite spring mantels, yet, Paula!

All of the yellow pots are vintage. I inherited a few from my grandmother and the rest were found in thrift and antique shops. I can’t resist buying them when the price is right!
What a cute mantle! Love the happy colors! Life to the full, Melissa
I haven’t started my Easter decorating, but it seems a little weird to be putting out the pretty pastels when you are still having snow. Hopefully it will feel a little more like spring as Easter day gets closer. I like all your pretty decorations, but especially the egg carrots and the vintage cards. Sounds like many things on your mantel have sentimental value to your family, making it more special. Thanks for sharing it with us!
What a pretty mantle – you’ve done a lovely job!
So pretty! I can’t believe it’s almost Easter!!!
Pretty! Love the jelly beans!
What a fun mantle. Love the pottery pieces and the colors. What a fun spot.
Thank you, Rebecca! I love collecting old pots and using them in my seasonal decor.
