Vintage Christmas Decor
Wow! Christmas is less than a week away and I’m finally sharing the last of my Christmas decorations. Earlier this month I shared outside and our porch, my kitchen, and my mantel. Come on in and let me show you a bit more of my home decorated for Christmas.
A music stand inherited from my grandmother holds a wooden tree that Mr. SP helped me make to display our Swarovski snowflake ornaments. Mr. SP has given me a dated ornamented every year since 1993.
I leave these out until March and we really enjoy their sparkle.
The marble topped table is home to Santa in his sled. I picked this up years ago at The Vermont Country Store. The lamp shade has holes punched in it and at night has lighted windows in the church and a glowing moon.
The Econolight that my mom gave me in another decoration that says out all winter. A light turns inside making it appear to snow. The vintage angel is an antique shop find from last year.
My grandfather made the sled from scrap wood back in the 1980’s. It’s been a few years since I’ve used this in my decor and I was happy to rediscover it in one of my Christmas boxes.
My dad’s toy car from the late 1940’s holds a tree. This man is racing home to get the tree decorated in time for Christmas.
My grandmother made our tree skirt in the 1970’s. I can’t imagine how many hours she spent gluing the tiny details. Mama let me have it a few years ago.
Our pre-lit tree gave us fits this year with lights that refused to be fixed, so matter how many bulbs Mr. SP replaced. He finally added a few strands of new lights to it and we called it good. My topper is one very similar to the one Mama used in the 1970’s.
Today is my last day of school until 2015! This teacher is more than ready for a break to rest up for the new year.
Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoy these busy days before Santa visits.

Paula, I can’t believe you forgot about that sleigh – you really do need a break! LOL The Econolight reminds me of one my aunt had with a train that appeared to be zooming down the tracks. Your dad’s race car is THE coolest item among many great vintage pieces in your Christmas decor. Merry Christmas, Paula!
Oh my goodness I love the ornament tradition. Plus those Swarovski ornaments are just stunning! I love the tree to display them! Enjoy your Christmas break!
I LOVE your vintage Christmas decorating! Thanks for linking up with Sunday Features!
I love all of your vintage decor, Paula. That car that belonged to your dad is amazing and I know you will always cherish that beautiful Christmas tree skirt that your grandmother made.
The prelit trees are so convenient, but seems I have to add a strand of lights every year.
So pretty Paula!! Love all the vintage….and those crystal ornaments…wow!! I completely understand why they stay out til March! I might leave em all year. Love!!
Merry Christmas!!
