Our New Toy
I planned on spending most of the day last Saturday decorating for Christmas but had a change of heart when we had an unseasonably warm weekend. Mr. SP bought a new toy and we couldn’t resist going to the lake to try it out. I hadn’t been to the lake since the leaves fell from the trees; the view looks so different now. It was nice to see the water so calm without the constant boat traffic that we see in the summer.
Mr. SP’s new toy is a kayak. He’s been talking about one for a long while and finally bit the bullet and indulged. He works really, really hard and I was happy that he bought himself a treat.
This kayak is foot powered and we found it to be fun and good workout. Would you believe that the water didn’t feel all that cold?
Mr. SP is all smiles! Calm water with no wake was perfect for kayaking.

What a spectacular way to spend the last Saturday evening in November. When it gets cold in the next few weeks, I’m going to remember this fun time at the lake.

My heart stops whenever I see kayakers on the lake in the summer. I always fear boaters won’t see them. But that said, it looks like so much fun to putz around a cove. Off season would surely be best. These pictures could convince anyone to buy a kayak.

That’s a new one on me Paula, I’ve never seen a foot powered kayak. I’ll have to show it to my brother, he loves kayaking. Glad you had such a nice weekend at the lake.
