Easy Upcycled Twine and Lace Cans Craft

I love a home decor project that is nearly free to make. Upcycled cans get transformed into vases with the addition of twine and lace ribbon.

To make the vase seasonal, use a different color ribbon.

This project is a good one to do with kids. Being a former teacher, I’m picturing it being a perfect Mother’s Day project.

  1. This is so cute and looks easy enough that I may be able to pull it off. LOL!
Sending prayers for positive results of your tests today.

  2. Very cute! I just love playing with cans! I save every single can that I can rescue. I’m actually in the process of making something with large coffee cans but I’m waiting for a few supplies to be delivered before I can move ahead. I want to cut them up and make all kinds of things with them! This is simple and very cute! I’m curious what you’re going to use it for?

  3. This is a great project to do with my grandchildren. So easy. I like that this is inexpensive also.
Praying that your tests go well and that you have good results.

  4. This is such a great idea, Paula! My grandmother used to repurpose tin cans. I love the neutral texture you added. Sending continued prayers to you, my friend.

  5. These are just the cutest! I love using tin cans for crafts but had to get rid of my stash a few years ago, i.e., I had WAY too many cans! Thanks so much for the inspiration and praying for you. <3

  6. What a lovely upcycle.
Did you find the gorilla glue got hot on the can? Sounds weird I know but I used one of the gorilla glues, years ago, on something metal and I remember it getting quite hot as it ‘cured’ I don’t remember which specific type of gorilla glue it was though.
Thanks for sharing this with us at Handmade Monday

  7. A set of these would go great on a shelf I have on my deck – add some small trailing plants! Thank you for sharing at My Big Fat Menopausal Life’s Share the Wealth Link party! Have an awesome weekend.

  8. This is adorable and would be a perfect addition to my craft room for my pencils or paintbrushes. I’ve featured it today at Thursday Favorite Things. Congrats! 🙂
