Curing Post-Tennis Munchies with Veggie Snack Chips
After a tough tennis match, there’s nothing like a cool drink and a tasty snack. Finding a snack that’s both satisfying and kind to your waistline isn’t always easy. I’m constantly on the lookout for a snack that satisfies my craving for salt and crunch but won’t blow my calorie budget.
I recently was asked to try two flavors of Green Giant Veggie Chips: Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Garden Ranch and Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips in Barbecue. Don’t those flavors look and sound good?
If I’m going to snack, I want it to be fairly healthy. A one ounce portion of Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips in Barbecue is 120 calories and 6 grams of fat. Being realistic, the bag contains five ounces, so I could eat half of a bag and only have consumed 300 calories and 15 grams of fat. One ounce of Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Garden Ranch is 130 calories and 6 grams of fat. If I ate half a bag of those, that would only be 325 calories. Come on, who really only eats one serving??
Both flavors are truly delicious. The Sweet Potato Chip is thin and crispy. The combination of the tang of barbecue with the sweet of the potato is pleasing. The Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Garden Ranch are thicker with a nice crunch. After trying these Green Giant™ chips, I can without a doubt recommend them to you. Oh, I like something healthy. I may look for those around here. Thanks.
I haven’t tried those, but we have a local brand of sweet potato chips that I eat.
I love sweet potato chips I have not seen this brand ,will look for them. I cut up sweet potatoes like french fries and toss wih a small amount of olive oil, salt and Cajun seasoning and bake at 350 until done. Yum!
What a great idea! I’ll have to try it.
Thank you for the coupon! I have tried these before and they are really yummy and light!
We are a bunch of potato chip freaks in my family… thanks for the healthy idea!
