How is your Christmas shopping going?  I’m way behind, probably because I’d rather spend my free time crafting or cooking rather than shopping.  If you are looking for a simple gift that is great for a friend or neighbor, consider making  DIY Fire Starters.

If you don’t need a gift idea but enjoy an evening by the fire, make starting your fire easy with DIY Fire Starters.

  1. A little down time sitting by the fire sounds wonderful! And your DIY fire starters are great gifts for friends and neighbors. I love the idea of making and giving these.

  2. Brilliant idea… I have bookmarked this and added it to my crafting journal to make for my friend with an open fire for next Christmas 🙂 (Yes, I really do plan that far ahead!)

    1. I hope your friend enjoys these, Rae! We use ours for lighting a fire when we use our fire pit outdoors.

    1. Donna – The wax gets vaporized as it acts as the fuel for the lighted wick. Once vaporized, the wax combines with oxygen to ignite and form a constant flame. So, when you use these, they pretty will “disappear”!

  5. What a great idea! If you use scented wax can you actually smell it as it burns? Thanks so much for sharing with us at the Happy Holidays link party. Pinned.
