Easter Tree
I turned my snowflake tree into an Easter tree!
Snowflake Tree:
I started this project when the ground was still white with snow. Working full time and busy weekends haven’t left much crafting time for me. I am so happy that this project is now complete. this tree makes me smile.
I used Mr. SP’s band saw to cut out the ornaments. I drew an egg shape for the egg ornaments and traced cookie cutters for the rabbit and chicks. I cut notches is some of the eggs to make them 3-D.
I painted each egg and then either used Mod Podge to apply Easter images from The Graphics Fairy or used Mod Podge to apply scrapbook paper. I used my limited art skills to paint designs on the 3-D eggs.
I couldn’t have a star on an Easter tree, so I used a double stick tape to tape a chick to each side of the star. I made a wreath using these chicks back in the mid-90’s.
I’m so happy to finally have an Easter decoration in my house. I decided not to pull out all of my Easter things this year since Easter is just a week away. If I’m going to make the effort to decorate, I need to enjoy it longer than a week. This cute tree will be just enough Easter for this year.
I’ve been collecting marble eggs for a few years. The chicks in the middle came from a local gift shop. The smaller fluffy chicks were $1.00 for a pack of four large or $1.00 for a pack of six small at Big Lots.
You did a great job with your Easter tree….it’s so cute and the cut out ornaments are terrific!
So cute and sweet Paula. This year Easter seemed to sneak up on us entirely too quickly!
