Easy “Updo”
I’ve always been a ponytail kind of girl. When I’m not at school, you can usually find me with my hair pulled back in a ponytail.
I recently discovered a new to me blog, Eisy Morgan. Ashley, the author of Eisy Morgan, has all sorts of things on her blog, but what caught my eye were her hair tutorial videos. I watched her “Sock Bun” tutorial and immediately tried it for myself. It was easy and I love look! Watch for yourself to see the secret to this great look.
A sock bun was perfect for a casual party we attended weekend before last.
This sock bun ended up being a little low on my head. The next time I try it, I’ll use a higher ponytail. I’m getting my hair cut this afternoon and am leaving it longer on purpose just so that I can continue to put my hair up into this style.
A ponytail is great, but this easy addition dresses it up the perfect amount.
What do you think? Would you wear your hair like this?
Love the bun, Paula! Thanks for sharing a great (new-to-me) blog. I’m a ponytail girl as well.
Sophisticated!
Oh to have a good head of hair! Love your pretty updo.
You look great!! I do that style a lot, and did it an awful lot when I was dancing. I had to slick it down more and use a lot of pins, but that’s the style most ballerinas go for. Very sophisticated.
I haven’t looked at Ashley’s hair tutorials–will have to check them out!
What a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great job! So many people tell me they can’t get their hair in, yours looks awesome! Thanks for mentioning me!!
I am in need of a easy up-doo for the wedding?? I am not much of a prom girl type of style. This is more up my alley!
Thanks for the kind words!
Wow, I love it! It looks really pretty on you – a very classic look too. I, personally, probably wouldn’t wear a bun, just because I’m too lazy to straighten my hair first and I tend to get lots of frizzies around my face. Not cute! That’s when I envy straight hair – when it’s time to put it up. It looks so effortless and cute!
That looks like a professional did it! I’m not good with hair; I don’t think mine would turn out well.
That looks so cute – I am DEFINITELy going to check out that video! I always just manage a messy little side bun thing – no real process. I like this – much more sophisticated!
That turned out so cute Paula! It looks great on you. I would totally wear it to dinner or to a party.
I wanted to let you know that I mentioned you in my “Tips to A Better Blog” post today. It was all about posting screen shots to your blog posts.
I hope all is well!
Karen
You look great. I love doing that, I like to not having my hair all over. I had it also the day of my wedding, with lots of little fresh flowers on it.
Paula, I like it a lot. I can tell (even from the back and side) that it looks good on you. IF I had nice, thick hair and could wear it long, I would definitely love wearing this look. My hair is thin and fine AND very short!

That looks so good! I am a ponytail kind of girl, but I would love to learn a few new ways to fix my hair!
I love it. I would wear my hair that way. Carla
LOVE IT! your hair is so healthy and shiny! <3

I love it! It looks very pretty.
OH i love that look!!!
Your hair looks great pulled up!
Sometimes if I do that I like to stick a barrette into it with something fancy showing on the end of it. Just to jazz it a bit.
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I really hope you like the Crunchy Potato Soft Tacos! I’m obsessed!
I LOVED this post about the sock bun! I never would have thought to use a sock in my hair! !’m definitely going to be giving this a try! 🙂
