Election Day
It’s election day! Be sure to get out and vote.
My mom is currently displaying a small collection of election pins on an old Teaberry gum stand. You don’t see too many people decorating for election day! My mom got these pins from her mother and the Teaberry gum stand came from my great-great aunt’s store. I thought that some of you might enjoy this interesting collection.
We have a teacher workday today because the schools are used for voting. I’m looking forward to a day in my room to really get caught up and to prepared for the next few weeks. I’ll even get to go out to lunch like a grown up or maybe I’ll come home for lunch. Isn’t it funny how a small thing like the thought of not eating in a cafeteria full of loud 12 – 13 year olds makes one so happy?
It’s just amazing how a little treat like lunch out with grown-ups goes a long way. The general public just does not understand!

I voted! That’s a really fun display.
My kids are in school today even though it’s a polling place. My son told me they won’t be able to use the bathroom today because of it, but I assured him there would be a bathroom available!

It is the little things that can make us happy, isn’t it? I love your mother’s collection of election pins. I have a very strong feeling my mother has some stashed away in her keepsakes as well. She used to tend to collect pins of sorts.

Glad you got a day to take a break… they don’t close our schools for voting just block off an area for voters.
