A Few Easter Vignettes

I can’t let Easter pass by without sharing some of my decorations. To tell the truth, I’ve had my Easter things out since the end of February!  It’s been nice this year to have plenty of time to enjoy them.

The chick basket below was crafted by my grandfather years ago.  I haven’t used it in a long, long time and am enjoying it this year.  The large egg you see in the background was in my childhood Easter basket every year filled with candy.  The bobble-headed chick was purchased at The Virginia Diner in Wakefield many years ago.  I love to watch his head move around.

I bought the marble eggs in the basket from an elderly couple down the street when they had a yard sale.

The bunny cup and saucer and plate belonged to my grandmother.  There’s a note on the back of the plate that says she received them as a gift in Norfolk, VA in the early 1920’s.

The top of the pie safe in the dining area of our kitchen is decked out for Easter, too.  The eggs are marble and the card was made for me by my grandmother.

The bunny plate was my brother’s and Mama gave the tin to me when she moved to Walnut Avenue.  She knows that I’m a sucker for bunnies!

This lamb plate was my dad’s as a child.  Mama was kind enough to let me have it.

I made this cute basket for a kitchen table centerpiece last year.  Click here for the directions.

Easter will be here before we know it.  Mama’s birthday is the day before Easter and Mr. SP’s is Easter Sunday.  We’ll celebrate Easter and birthdays on the same day this year.  Have you made your Easter plans?
