Fitness Friday #22 :: Bridge ‘N’ Curl
I subscribe to both Shape and Fitness magazines and love to tear pages out that describe exercises that I’d like to try. I’m able to mix up my routine and also find exercises that I rotate in on a permanent basis.
Today’s exercise for the Bridge ‘N’ Curl was in the August 2012 issue of Fitness magazine. It’s definitely a keeper!
This exercise targets the abs, hips, butt, and hamstrings.
How To:
1. Lie faceup, arms by the sides, knees bent and feet flat, squeezing a ball or rolled up towel behind the knees. (To make it easier, squeeze the ball between thighs.)
2. Keeping knees tightly tucked, curl hips off ground to bring knees toward your chest.
3. Return feet to ground, then lift hips so that your body forms a straight line from knees to chest.
4. Lower to start. Repeat for one minute.
A video is always much better than pictures for showing exactly how to do an exercise!
I plan to do this exercise while I watch a DVR’d show. I find that when I’m watching a show, exercise time flies by quickly.
