Glittered Easter Eggs
I’ve been busy decorating my home for Easter but lacked a centerpiece for my dining room table. After glittering some faux eggs and nestling them in book page filler in a vintage ironstone vegetable dish, I had the perfect centerpiece for my table.
Glittered Easter eggs are a quick and easy to make craft. To make them, I used faux eggs, glitter, and Mod Podge.
Be sure to work over waxed or freezer paper when glittering an object. When you are finished, you can easily pour the extra glitter back into the containers.
To make glittered Easter Eggs, brush half of an egg with Mod Podge and then sprinkle liberally with glitter.
After the Mod Podge dries, coat the other half of the egg and glitter it. I found that it was necessary to rinse my brush after glittering each egg so that I didn’t get glitter in my Mod Podge container.
Shredded pages from a vintage book that I found in a discard pile at the library makes great filler for my glittered Easter eggs. I’ll save the filler to use again next year.
I’m pleased with the end result of this project and I’m always happy when I get to use one of my grandmother’s antiques for decorating my home. I know she’d like this centerpiece.
Easter has been my main topic for the past two weeks. I invite you to click over to tour my decorated for Easter living room, to see my Southern Living inspired kitchen table centerpiece, my striped eggs that I crafted using thrifted friendship bracelet string, and a fun Happy Easter pennant banner that I crafted using cereal boxes.

Okay, this is definitely my favorite Easter project you have done! I LOVE these glitter eggs. They are gorgeous! I especially like how you put them in the shredded paper from a discarded book. What a neat idea!
Oh yes! I love the sparkle and bright colors of your eggs. Soooo pretty!
These look so pretty, Paula, and love that you have them nestled in shredded book pages! Thanks for sharing and pinning! Have a happy Tuesday!
These are adorable! I have two glitter-loving little ladies and they will absolutely love these.
Beautiful! I love how the Easter eggs sparkle.
Oh, I love the bright colors and sparkle. So easy, but so awesome! LOVE!!
Now….those are MY kind of eggs right there! Sparkly, glittery goodness. I LOVE them.

Shimmery sparkle! You know I love it Paula! Very fun, happy colors!
This looks like a wonderful idea for Easter and I’m sure they will last a lot longer than chocolate eggs at this time of year. Knowing me, I’ll probably mess up near the end and up with half the floor covered in glitter.
