I’ve been wanting a cloche for a while now. I’ve seen so many creative uses for them on blogs or in magazines and I like the idea of something that I can decorate with in any season and in any room of my home. I looked all summer and just couldn’t find one that I wanted. I had to have some oral surgery last month and my surgeon’s office just happens to be near a home-dec store that I like to visit a couple of times a year. To reward myself for having the surgery, I decided to go into the store, Bishop Creek Home, to look around. Unfortunately, the store is closing, but fortunately for me, they were having a sale! I purchased this cloche, the three moss balls under it, and a few darling little Easter chicks for 30% off. I’ll forget about the Easter chicks and I’ll be surprised when I find them in my Easter decoration boxes next spring. I bought the nest at https://www.thefarmbasket.com/ earlier in the summer. The little bird was my grandmother’s and is hand carved. She enjoyed craft shows, so I would imagine that it was purchased in Roanoke, Blacksburg, or somewhere else in the New River Valley in the 80’s. It won’t be long before it is time to change the cloche out to fall. I’m thinking pumpkins and gourds would look really nice.
A New “Toy” for Me
I love it and also love the paint color on your wall. Do you know what it is? I am in need of a paint color for my basement.
gotta love a cloche 🙂 especially one bought on sale!
I went down to the basement to see if the paint color was marked on the can. It is a James T. Davis color and was custom mixed at the store. I looked for a card with the color, but I couldn’t find one. We painted this room a long time ago, so they might not have that color anymore. Sorry!
