Pre-Spring Table Centerpiece with Primroses
A little color in the house was just what I needed to lift a mild case of the winter doldrums. A quick stop at a local nursery yielded four Primroses, the perfect amount to make a pretty centerpiece.
Last month’s Southern Living had an article on Primroses and they recommended enjoying them inside and then tossing them into the compost when the blooms are gone. They are apparently finicky to grow.
I love the vibrant purple blooms.
My container is a Southern Living at Home piece. The handle is detachable which is nice. These were very popular a few years ago and I’ll bet that a reader or two has this same piece in their collection.
The tea towel is Irish Linen, purchased many years ago in San Francisco.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit. It won’t be long before there are blooms from my yard to use for a table centerpiece.

We can grow primroses pretty early in the spring up here in New England–they tolerate the cool spring temperatures pretty well. And I love them! Your centerpiece is beautiful. Linda

I love primroses and have tried to grow them with no luck. It is too warm in south Alabama.
Your centerpiece is lovely.
Very pretty! I just bought some too for a centerpiece.
I always plant mine and they come back every year. Guess they like the climate here on LI.
