Spring Break Time!
Woo-Hoo! I’m on spring break! I am so much looking forward to having this coming week off.
It was in the 80’s yesterday so Mr. SP and I headed to the lake to look at our lot and enjoy the warm temperatures and the sunshine.
One day we’ll sit on our deck or porch and enjoy this lovely view.
While we were relaxing, Mr. SP noticed something suspicious in the small Redbud tree next to us.
Two garter snakes were enjoying the sunshine, too. I detest snakes but these two seemed pretty harmless. What scares me is that they probably live in the rocks on the edge of the lake and I had just been sitting on the rocks.
Mr. SP made friends with our neighbor’s dog. The man is a magnet for dogs.
I am really looking forward to this weekend. Tonight our supper club is having a “Bucket of Chicken” party. Terri, the hostess, is buying chicken from several local places (including two gas stations) and we are going to pick the best chicken in our town. I’m bringing an appetizer and collard greens.
Tomorrow I’ll go to church with Mama and then enjoy Easter dinner at her house. We are celebrating three birthdays along with Easter and I’m making the cake. I’m trying a new recipe from Southern Lady and I hope that it is good.
Mama and I will work at Walnut Avenue on Monday and I’ll have an update post next week on her restoring progress.
Things are rolling along with our driveway progress. The guys worked on our greenstone patio this week. I can’t wait to entertain on the patio!
Enjoy the weekend!
Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break!
Your lot is gorgeous but those snakes will need to find another home.
Have a great week off!
Paula, it’s looking very much like life is good for you! Have a blessed and joyous Easter!
xoxo Pattie
OMG!!! Those snakes are so big!
Mr. SP needs a dog!
Can’t wait to see some update pictures from Walnut Ave.
Happy Easter!
OK, those are big snakes! Creepy!
The bucket of chicken party sounds like too much fun. What a great idea. Wouldn’t it be funny if the best chicken came from a gas station?! In my town, the best burritos come from a gas station. Like, by far!
Have an awesome Easter!
Oh those snakes!!!! Eek!
We are doing Easter lunch at SIL’s and also celebrating 3 birthdays! MIL’s is today, BIL’s is Monday and grandmother turns 90 in a couple weeks!
Hope you have a great Spring Break!
There is NOTHING as sweet to a teacher’s school year as spring break. Enjoy yours thoroughly.
Wow – – – your break seems late. We had ours a week ago and it seemed like all of blogland had already HAD their then. When does your school get out for the summer?
Sounds like you are a busy girl. I am so happy you are on break and you are going to really enjoy yourself! The party tonight sounds fun!
I’m happy you and Mr. SP are enjoying your property. Don’t you love dreaming about it? I couldn’t wait to move into our house! We have water snakes there, but they are harmless. They are big, though! Yuk!
Have a Happy Easter, Paula!
Happy Easter, Paula! 🙂 Those snakes make me shivery!! I HATE snakes. But I love the dog. 😉
Can’t wait to see the progress on Walnut Avenue. 🙂 I’ll check in with you when I get back from my Nannie’s house. 🙂
Thanks for visiting and my blog and becoming a follower! My husband found a garden snake in our yard yesterday while working in the yard. Of course he proceeded to pick it up and bring it to me. He knows I don’t like them!
That was some snake! Your chicken party sounds like a fun time! Can’t wait to hear which place wins!
Hope you had a great Easter!

Oh my word – snakes in the redbud. I know those are fairly harmless but they are so long!

Have a wonderful Spring Break and I can’t wait to see more about your Mama’s house redo!
Haha, my husband would have been gone in an instant. He is terrified of snakes! I however, like them. Looks like a relaxing time!
