Supper Club

I’ve been wanting to start a supper club for a long time, but a lot of my friends don’t cook and don’t entertain. Have you ever felt like you are always the one inviting and never the one being invited?? I’ve made some new friends through tennis and they do cook and entertain! We have five couples and one single woman (who hopes to soon find someone special – it gets hard the older you get, but that’s another story). One couple can’t come this time, so there will be 9 people.

I’m making:
Grilled Pork Tenderloin (served with an orange rosemary sauce)
Scalloped Potatoes
Yeast Rolls

People are Bringing:
Appetizers
Salad
Side dish
Dessert

My biggest decision is what dishes to use.

I want to use these, but I’ll need to buy one more dinner plate to have nine. It’s a good excuse to buy another place setting. Plus, it’s on sale at Belk.

I could use these. The advantages are that I have many serving pieces to match and it can go into the dishwasher and I already have 12 place settings.

I also need to get a tablecloth. I got a new table last winter and have never used it with all of the leaves in it, so I don’t have a tablecloth that’s big enough. Another excuse to go shopping!

I still have a lot of mums blooming in my yard, plus asters, so I’ll create a centerpiece using those. It is so much fun to plan a party! I think this group is going to be a good thing!

  1. I’m using the Lenox. (The first one.) I’m going to buy one more place setting tonight. That one is so much more formal and suits the occasion a little better.

  2. What a fun evening you have planned – a supper club with friends and a wonderful sounding dinner! I love both dishes but especially the Lenox. Have a terrific party!
