Tablescape Tuesday

Susan at Between Naps on the Porch sponsors Tablescape Tuesday each week. I enjoy looking at the beautiful tablescapes posted and especially enjoy looking at the dishes. I had supper club at my house on Saturday night, so I thought I’d share my table and participate in Tablescape Tuesday for the very first time.

Let’s start with the centerpiece. I bought the flowers at Sam’s Club and arranged them in a footed compote that belonged to my grandmother. I’m hoping that I can enjoy this arrangement through next weekend.

There are twelve people in our supper club, so I used my casual china, Mikasa’s Garden Harvest, because I have a twelve piece set. Being able to put the dishes in the dishwasher instead of handwashing them was a bonus to using this set. I don’t have a table cloth that is long enough for my table when both leaves are in, so I mixed and matched two different sets of place mats. The silverware is Gorham’s Golden Ribbon Edge. The glasses are two sets, each is a slightly different shade of amber, but you really can’t tell unless you examine them closely. One set came from an antique store and the other from an estate sale. My aunt had glasses like these in green which makes me guess that they are from the ’60’s. You can see that my table only seats ten and that I had to bring in two chairs from another room. My husband and I sat at our breakfast bar for dinner.

A good time was had by all!
