This Year’s “New” Decoration
Every year I like to do at least one thing “new” for my Christmas decorations. I decided that I would group many of the antique pieces of glass that my grandmother gave me and fill them with sparkly ornaments and garland. I like the way it turned out. The red ornaments are older (I bought them at an antique shop over the summer.) and the rest of them are from K-Mart (Martha collection).
This pie safe is in my kitchen. The cherry wood came from the farm where my grandfather grew up in Middletown, MD. He had a dresser made for each grandchild from it and this pie safe. I always struggle with what to put on top of it for Christmas.
I’ve been obsessed with fish plates and platters for a long time. I first saw them on display at Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe on the Outer Banks and instantly fell in love. They had a fire last year and all I could think about was all of those beautiful fish plattters and plates being destroyed. You can see a bit of one of my sets of fish platters and plates above the pie safe.
So pretty! And love your new picture!
I love the sparkly decorations. They look great! Vintage stuff is always the best.
Your decorations are beautiful!
