Upcycled Plastic Bag Halloween Wreath
My mom came up with the idea for making this Halloween wreath using upcycled plastic bags.
She made this wreath for a booth that I used to have. It didn’t sell and I was not at all sorry because I’ve enjoyed decorating with it every Halloween since.
Mama’s Women’s Club collects plastic bags and donates them to an organization that uses them to make benches. So far they have donated three benches to the city of Waynesboro.
This is my version of the Halloween wreath.
This Halloween DIY project was fun to make and I love how it looks hanging on our front door.
This is the first time that I’ve ever decorated my front porch for Halloween and I’m loving how it looks.
It also was my first time working with faux spiderweb and I didn’t at all enjoy the process of draping it over the pumpkins. It is not so easy to work with!
This easy plastic bag craft can be used in any season. I’m already thinking about making a Christmas wreath using this technique.
How to Make the Wreath
- Gather materials.
- Stuff plastic bags in between the wreath form wires.
- Keep stuffing until the wreath form is full.
- Trim the plastic bags.
5. Spray paint the wreath black.
6. Add spiderweb to the wreath.
7. Use a glue gun to add the spiders and letters to the wreath.
8. Glue bow to the wreath.

Love it! This is adorable and this is coming from someone who hates spiders. Everyother bug I can deal with but spiders no.
I love the spiders you added and the ones added to your porch.
Pinned!
Thank you so much, Cindy! I am not afraid of spiders or insects but snakes and alligators scare me to death.

When I first saw the wreath I thought it was a trash bag- not spray paint! So clever.
Thank you so much, Marie!
At first, I thought you used black garbage bags. I have so many shopping bags in our storage room so I love how those can be recycled instead and painted black. Very cute Halloween wreath, Paula. Pinned 🙂
