The Weekend
Mama and I headed to the beach Thursday afternoon to spend the weekend getting her house ready for the upcoming rental season. We had a great three days together cleaning, organizing, and taking a few breaks to walk on the beach, go to lunch, or to shop a little bit. The weather was sunny and warm both Friday and Saturday. Saturday night, storms rolled through with tornado warnings. I’m glad that we headed home today because it was windy and very chilly when we left this morning.
We ate lunch Friday at a place that’s been there forever but was new to us. If you head to OBX this summer, give Chili Peppers a try. Saturday, we ate lunch at Outer Banks Brewing Station. Another good choice for lunch! We aren’t beer drinkers, so we stuck with iced tea.
We were busy ladies this weekend. Here’s what we accomplished:
~Windows washed
~Mini-blinds taken outside, hung on the line, and washed
~All bedding washed
~Bathrooms thoroughly cleaned
~One tub re caulked
~All rooms dusted and vacuumed
~Kitchen cleaned from top to bottom including taking everything out of the cabinets and washing and reorganizing
I wish that my house was this clean!
I found this CUTE mushroom in one little shop that we went into on Saturday. The shop owner had it displayed on a fern wreath. I’ll use it under my cloche after Easter.
It is always good to be home, but I sure do like visiting the beach. There’s nothing like hearing those waves crash or looking at water that goes on as far as the eye can see.
Five more days of school and then it is SPRING BREAK! Yippee!! We are thinking about planning a last minute trip to Okemo. I would love to go, but I really was looking forward to having a week at home to garden, play tennis, and just plain old relax. We’ll see…
